Hello Everyone,

We are looking forward to getting back to the daily routine, learning lots and keeping busy.
We will be welcoming some new friends throughout this term so we are looking forward to settling everybody together.
This week we will be doing some fun Halloween crafts. We will also be making Pumpkin muffins, which will be very interesting!
Our book this week will be ‘Room on the Broom.’
Thursday is ‘NSPCC’ pants day. The children can wear their pants over their clothes if they wish. It is to promote awareness of saying ‘no’ and what’s in your pants belongs to you. During the day we will be doing some creative craft activities and showing the official NSPCC video.

We will continue with My Turn/ Your turn. This week we will focus on what we are good at and learning to understand that everyone is different and likes different things.
We will do some cutting and sticking of things we like and some things we are not so keen on.  We will be starting to respond to the wishes of other in the group. This will help the children to understand that everyone is different.

This week we will play Mrs Browning has a box. Six noisy things in a box, we sing to the tune of ‘Old McDonald’ the children have to guess what the noise is without being able to see it from inside the box.

Autumn and colours

Hello Everyone,

The children have loved ‘The Gruffalo’ story.
All children loved this book and it has helped them to develop their descriptive language.  We have talked about the weather changing to winter and how this may affect us in our everyday life ie: wearing coats, hats, boots etc.
The children loved making their own little ‘Gruffalo’s’ some of these were happy and some were cross!!
We will be continuing to develop an interest area and try and collect some of the things we see through the story.  We will develop our artwork and be using Autumn colours, mixing our own colours from powder.

My Turn/ Your turn, has been working with the children starting to understand the concept. We have been amazed at how quick the children have picked up the songs and seem to know most of the actions.
It was lovely to see in the garden last week the children are starting to play along side each other in small groups.
This week we will focus on how children can make their own choices and work part of the group.

Letters and Sounds

This week we will play name the missing animal. One animal will be removed from under a cloth and we will see if the children can recognise which one has disappeared.

The Gruffalo

Image result for the gruffalo

Hello Everyone,

We have had fun painting with different vegetables. Some children noticed how cold they felt to touch.
The children seemed very fond of the Cow and had lots of positive things to say about them when they were doing the sticking. Most children knew that milk comes from the Cow. We did some Tractor wheel paintings and then we put a selection of paintings and artwork up in the hall for the Harvest Festival Assembly. The children who were here on Friday morning were very good at assembly and all enjoyed their first experience of being with all of the school children.

This week we will base our activities/experiences around the ‘The Gruffalo’ story.
All children love this book and it describes the weather throughout and the changes of dark evenings. We will talk in group time about the weather changing to winter and how this may affect us in our everyday life ie: wearing coats, hats, boots etc.
We will have an interest area and try and collect some of the things we see through the story and do some artwork making our own little Gruffalos.
We hope that the children will use lots of new describing words. If they use any new words at home please can you write a quick WOW.

This week we will focus on gentle hand and work through a new group time where we have My Turn/ Your turn. This will help us to learn new songs by repeating them back after each sentence, encouraging the children’s listening skills. The adult leads with my turn, then signals to the group your turn.
We also hope the children will learn to work as part of a team; we will play some team games together. Also games that encourage naming of children as we are still learning the names of our new friends.

Letters and Sounds
This week we will do some drumming while we are out doors. The children will be encouraged to tap or stoke things with their beaters. We will the get each child to demonstrate which their favourite was.

Home Learning
Please can you continue to bring us in any Wow’s of your children great achievements at home.
Also bring in any special photo’s as these are still coming in each week. It would be nice for all children to have a photo on our board by the end of term.
