They did some great craft work for our display, worked together well and discussed how they felt about pigs.

Chinese New Year

Image result for chinese new year

Hello Everyone,

What a great week of fun we had, the children loved the snow especially being able to share the experience with their friends. The children loved making their Binoculars for bird watching and this helped them to focus on what they were meant to be looking for. We did spot a couple of birds eating from our feeder outside in the nature garden so we were really excited about this. We also identified birds from a bird chart. The children are really growing in confidence to all have a go at talking during group times which is lovely to watch.
This week we will be focusing on the ‘Chinese New Year’ we will be making, dancing, crafting an expressing ourselves during the week and will finish up with some food tasting. This year it’s the year of the Pig.

Jennie Jigsaw
We will be talking about family and if we have any pets. Talking about what we know and asking questions. We will be thinking about what makes us all different such as hair colour, clothes, food we like and where we like to go.
We will be making a list of all our favourite places to go and who we like to be with.

Letters and Sounds
We played pass the Teddy, learning all our friends names is quite tricky. This is a really fun game; the children roll the ball to another member of the group. Before they roll they have to say their name. This helps found this much easier this week which was great.

Home Learning
Keep the lovely Wow’s coming in. If you have any bird observations this would be great. If not any amazing new tasks your child can now complete. We have noticed the children are starting to get the hang of putting on their own coats with help. We explain to put the hood on your head and find the arm holes is a really good technique.

Notices
Looking forward to Parent’s evening, if you have not signed up it’s not too late. I can’t wait to share your child’s progress with you.
