Image result for chicks

Hello Everyone,

We have had a lovely week creating some master pieces and craft work for Mother’s day. We hope you have all been truly spoilt and had a great day. It’s also been very exciting as the eggs in the incubator have started to crack. The chicks are also making a lot of noise. This week we will be creating some Easter craft to take home at the end of the week. We will also be having a fun Easter egg hunt around the garden and making some tasty treats.

This week we will continue to talk about what we are good at and what we would like to be able to do next. This is really good to help the children with their confidence and self esteem. We will also ask others in the group what we feel each others best qualities are. I’m sure the children will be great at this as they are really kind and caring towards each other.

Letters and Sounds
This week we will play Ted lost in the room. The children are getting the hang of this game and are starting to help each other with it, which is lovely to see.
We will also play some ring games as a group to increase understanding and working together skills.

Hello Everyone,

We have been watching our Sunflowers starting to grow and making predictions about what might happen to them next. We had great fun dressing up for World Book Day and loved making our book marks and designing the front covers of our favourite books. Due to the rain we did not read a story outside so we will do this when the weather allows. The display on Jasper’s Beanstalk is coming along and we will be working on the final touches this week. We had a strong focus on Literacy and Communication and Language during the week. We have been recording the children’s recall of ending of songs and stories. We have been observing to see if they can remember the ending of the stories and songs.

We will be continuing with ‘spring’ this week doing lots of painting and working together to create new things and learn new skills together.
We will be planting our potatoes and hoping to see them grow over the coming months. We will be doing some potato printing flower pictures, making butterfly pictures and planting some cress.

Jennie Jigsaw
We will play describe the person this week and see if the children can guess who we are describing in the room.
We may also introduce ‘Who’s in the box’ I’m sure they will love this game!
The children have really good memories and listening skills, including listening to each other which is great to see.

World book week

Image result for world book week

Hello Everyone,

We had a lovely week talking about Spring we had lots of fun planting our own sun flowers so we can watch them grow and make predictions about what might happen to them next. We drew some nice spring pictures for the display board and looked around the garden for signs that spring is coming. We also tried out a new way of trying to put our coats on. If you see your child laying their coat out in front of them, arms in, then flicking over their head this is the new way!
This week is World Book Day and we are looking forward to dressing up on Thursday to celebrate our love of books.  We will read books in different areas of the inside and outside environment to see if it captures the children’s imagination. The children have chosen to do a display on Jasper’s Beanstalk as it is one of their favourite stories. We will do lots of painting and working together to create this master piece.
We are going to be having a strong focus on Literacy and Communication and Language this week. The children’s language skills are increasing rapidly and we would like to capture some of this progress.
On Tuesday we will be joining in with celebrating Pancake Day with lots of fun activities including tasting pancakes.
On Wednesday children may bring in a book that they would like to swap with another child. You then get to keep the book that your child has swapped.

Jennie Jigsaw
We will continue playing Teddy lost in the room to see how we are progressing with this from the last time we played this game.
The children have really good memories and listening skills, including listening to each other which is great to see.

Letters and Sounds
We are going to focus on the sound box this week this week. We are going to be making up rhyming songs and performing these in pairs. We will be seeing if the children can recognise and join in with a missing word from a familiar story or rhyme. .

Home Learning
Please send in some Wow’s of anything you have achieved over the last few days.
Has your child done any counting, noticed something different, recognised a sign post these are all observations we would like to hear about. If your child would like to bring in their favourite story to share at group time they will be most welcome. If you could write their names in the front cover so we don’t get them mixed up it would be a great help.

With the warmer weather coming and you would like to give potty training a try just let us know and we will help where ever we can.
