Butterflies

Hello Everyone,

We had been lots of fun observing the Caterpillars; they have now turned in to chrysalides over this next week. We had lots of fun mixing colours and painting Butterfly’s for our wall display. We also talked about repeating patterns that we could see.

We looked for what other bugs we can find in the outside areas of Pre-School. Mostly we found woodlice, which a lot of the group did not like!

Hopefully this week our Butterfly’s hatch out and we can see what lovely colour they are going to be this year. We will keep them inside for a couple of days before releasing them in to our garden. Can’t wait to see them!

Jennie Jigsaw

This week we will be continuing talking to the children about standing up for your self. This includes making relationships, self confidence and self awareness and managing feelings and behaviours. We will be playing some games in groups with an adult to help us with what responses would be good to use. The children started to play this last week at group time. Everyone wanted to try so we will all have the chance this week.

Letters and Sounds 

This week we will be playing ‘What item is in the box’ which is a listening game to see if we can recognise what is in the box. We will also play musical instruments together and see if we can play loud and soft. 

Home Learning 

Please continue to share any Wow’s with us. Hopefully you will have some great times over the coming half term. This term has gone so quick and I’m sure the summer term is going to fly by!

Notices

As the weather is starting to warm, please could all children bring sun hats to school. We do have a box of spares if needed. If you have applied suncream to your child before school please could you let a member of staff know. If you have ticked to supply your own suncream, please could you make sure children have this when they come to Pre-school ready for us to apply.

It was lovely to see some of you at Stay and Play on Friday. This week Stay and Play will be on Wednesday 22nd May  from 8.30-9.00am. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there.

On Wednesday 22nd May we have our story time at 3.10pm. Please come and join us. 

On Friday 24th May we break up for May Half Term. We return back to preschool on Monday 3rd June. Have a fabulous week. 

Our Saturday Stay and Play morning is on the 27th June from 10.00-11.30am. Hope to see lots of you there. Younger and older siblings are very welcome. We have also got our community make over day happening from 10-5pm.

 Thank you for all the support and sponsorship money. We have raised an amazing £619.00. If you still have sponsorship money to bring in, please give it to Zoe.

On Thursday 13th June 2019 we have got the Happy Circus coming to school for an evening circus performance. Tickets can be purchased now   at a great price of £10.50 each. Tickets can be purchased from the Main school office. 

Please remember to check your Child’s post pocket when you hang up coats in the mornings, all important post will be there.

The very hungry caterpillar

Hello Everyone,

We had been very interested in watching the Caterpillars, they are now getting very fat and will soon be turning to chrysalides over this next week. The food tasting of the Hungry Caterpillar foods went really well and the children were happy to try all of the new fruits.

This week we will continue to make our 3d models of Butterflies. We will also be mark making and colour mixing to create Butterfly artwork.

During the week we will also be looking for what other bugs we can find in the outside areas of Pre-School.

The very hungry caterpillar

Hello Everyone,

We had a great time seeing how much the Caterpillars are eating. The children have also been creating lots of artwork to represent what they can see happening in the little pot!

The Chicks have now gone to the farm where they will be looked after until they are big enough to come and live with the other chickens in the nature garden. 

We had an amazing time with the Grandparents the children really loved showing them what a great time they have at school. 

This week we will be continuing our story focus on ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ We will be trying some of the foods that the caterpillars like and describing what they taste like.

We will continue our display work and junk model our own caterpillars.

Friendships are developing well in the group and the children are starting to use their reasoning skills when playing in the group.

This week  we have got our sponsored bike and scooter ride. Please see letter to see which day your child is taking part. Children can bring in their bikes or scooters and helmets.
