Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We had a lovely week exploring ‘The Gruffalo’, we loved listening to the story and exploring all the different animals. We enjoyed puppet play and using the book to create our own stories with props. 

We enjoyed exploring all different types of music during group times and loved dancing and expressing ourselves. 

This week the story focus will be Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?

This will also have a colour and shape focus as well as identifying different animals. 

Healthy Movers

We will be  pretending to be birds in the trees. This activity helps us with balance and coordination. 

We will also do some material dancing to music and instructions. 

Please keep the ‘Wow’s’ coming in. The children are learning many new skills that need to be celebrated!;’[

If you can continue to help your child to put on their own shoes this is a really useful skill to have. Also putting on their own coats. This really helps them to learn this valuable skill.

On Friday 29th November is Stay and Play from 8.30-9.00am. Younger and older siblings welcome.

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.

Powsa Events:-

On Wednesday 27th November at 7.30pm in the main school staff room, POWSA have their monthly meeting to discuss future events. Everyone welcome and it would be great to see you there.

On Friday 29th November it is Non school uniform day in return for bringing a tombola prize.

Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We had a lovely week exploring Fireworks, we looked at colours, shapes and mixing colours. We also loved listening to firework displays and pretending that we were the Fireworks! It has been lovely to see how much the children are playing alongside each other and have great listening skills and ideas. 

This week we will be exploring ‘The Gruffalo’  and we have lots of great activities planned. 

Healthy Movers

We will be  exploring all different types of music and how they make us express ourselves when we hear them.

Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We had a great first week back and the children have loved talking about the fireworks they had seen or heard. We had lots of talk about numbers, colours and shapes. The children loved the campfire at the roundhouse area on Tuesday. The children also enjoyed having a good singsong too! 

This week we will be continuing with  Fireworks. We have lots of fun activities planned.

Healthy Movers

We will be  continuing completing the activity ‘We are Brilliant’

These skills are supporting body image and body confidence. We will be thinking about and moving like many different animals. 

If you can continue to help your child to put on their own shoes this is a really useful skill to have. Also putting on their own coats. This really helps them to learn this valuable skill.

Stay and Play is on Thursday 14th November from 8.30-9.00am Younger and older siblings very welcome. Hope to see you there.

Zoe really enjoyed catching up with you at Parent’s evening and it was great to share your child's progress so far!

We can’t wait to see you all and hear about what you have been up to.It’s not too late to email any photos of your half term fun to Zoe.

We hope you have all had a lovely half term break. We have been very lucky with the weather and hope you have got out and about while it’s been dry.

This week we will be having a Firework focus with a bonfire snack tomorrow morning up at the roundhouse area. We have lots of fun activities planned and will also be focussing on colours and shapes.
