Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We had a lovely week. The children really enjoyed sharing Whatever Next and loved the Space theme. We loved some songs about the Moon and joining in the actions. We have also played some counting songs with props and this encouraged sharing and working together as a group.

This week we will have a book focused on ‘ Piece at last’ and ‘Elmer’ . Both of these are great stories and we have some very special work to do throughout the week.

Healthy Movers

We will be  working together on some ‘Sticky Kids’ songs. The children have loved these and they always ask to do more!

Please keep the ‘Wow’s’ coming in. We will put some into bags this week.The children are learning many new skills that need to be celebrated!  The photos so far have been great and the children love sharing these with the other children. Please feel free to send them to Zoe on the email address below. 

Home Learning

Can you look for square things in your house?

Can you say where you live?

Can you remember the names of any of the children in the class?

These tasks are always optional but are great to see the progression of your child's skills and knowledge building. 

The children are getting much more skills with their shoes and coats so please continue with this at home.This really helps them to learn these valuable skills.

Please sign up for parents evening for the week of 3rd February. Times and dates are on the window by the door. If these dates and times are not convenient please speak to Zoe to arrange an alternative time and date.

We were due to have our Stay and Learn morning on Thursday but we have a whole school special visitor so we have rescheduled our Stay and Learn morning to Friday (31st Jan) at 9.00-9.30am.

Hello everyone....

Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

The children have enjoyed their week focused on ‘ Whatever Next’ . We did lots of fun activities which involved counting, matching and making some Space boots and Moon pictures. We will continue with this focus this week and have more great things planned. We will be starting to do some PE during the week and look forward to seeing the gross motor skills grow with the children's confidence. 

Healthy Movers

We will be  playing Birds in the Tree’s this week. This helps to develop coordination and balance. It is also lots of fun and requires working as a team together. 

Please keep the ‘Wow’s’ coming in. We will put some into bags this week.The children are learning many new skills that need to be celebrated!  Thank you to everyone who has signed up for parents evening so far. If you have been for a parents meeting over the last couple of weeks, or you have just started, then obviously you don’t need to arrange to meet with Zoe yet.

Hello Everyone, 

We had a great first week back. The children have loved seeing each other and playing and learning together. We have played some group games and role play and the small world has been a great interest. They are really starting to add some narrative to their play. 

This week we will have a book focused on ‘ Whatever Next’ . This is a lovely story and we have lots of fun things planned.

Healthy Movers

We will be  working together  using our scarves to all different types of music this week. We will also talk about how the music makes us feel. We will also follow the leader which is a great confidence booster. 

Please keep the ‘Wow’s’ coming in. We will put some into bags this week.The children are learning many new skills that need to be celebrated!  The photos so far have been great and the children love sharing these with the other children. On Wednesday 15th Janaury we have Stay and Play from 8.30-9.00am. We look forward to seeing you there. Younger and older siblings welcome.

Powsa Events:-

POWSA has it's AGM this coming Wednesday (15th Janaury) at 7.30pm in the main school staff room. Please do come along, everyone welcome. If you would like more information please come and speak to Julia.

Hello Everyone, 

We hope you have all had a great Christmas break and we look forward to hearing all about the fun you have had together!

This week we will be focussing on some Christmas recall and settling the children back in. We also have some new children starting this half term. We are sure you will join us in welcoming them to the class.

Next week we will start to suggest some home learning which will help to reinforce the skills we have been learning at preschool. These tasks are always optional but are great to see the progression of your child's skills and knowledge building. 

If you can continue to help your child to put on their own shoes this is a really useful skill to have. Also putting on their own coats. This really helps them to learn this valuable skill.
