Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We have all had a lovely week together. We have enjoyed talking about Spring and seeing lots of new flowers start to grow. The children loved creating their Mother’s day gifts and we really hope you like them.

We played some colour games and group games. We have enjoyed time together with the small world toys. 

This week we will be continuing to look at Spring and focus on all the colours we can see around us. 

Healthy Movers

We will be repeating the children's favourite activity with the scarves this week. The children love the scarf and there is so much you can do with them!

Please keep the ‘Wow’s’ coming in. We will put some into bags this week.The children are learning many new skills that need to be celebrated!

Hello everyone......

 

Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We have had a lovely week of exploring and learning together. The children have been growing in confidence with their number activities and have been very interested in counting bugs in the garden. They know to go and look under the logs if they want to find the worms! We enjoyed creating new colours using the paints and starting on some crafting work for our Mother’s day surprises. 

We have lots more creative skills to put to the test this week as we finish our creations. We will also be looking about what changes take place in spring this week. 

Healthy Movers

The  healthy movers activity is all about brushing teeth! There is a circle song about brushing teeth and moving around in the circle. We will let you know how the song goes! We need to continue with the song as the children are starting to pick this up now.

Hello Everyone, 

The children have loved ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ . We have been noticing lots of detail in the story and remembering all the food that was eaten. We played some colour matching games and looked for bugs out in the garden. We will continue with this focus this week and we will be watching to see when our Caterpillars hatch. 

Healthy Movers

We will continue with this  healthy movers activity that is all about brushing teeth! There is a circle song about brushing teeth and moving around in the circle. We will let you know how the song goes!

On Friday it is Red Nose Day. Children welcome to wear something Red. A suggested donation of £1.00.

Hello Everyone, 

We had a great week of learning together and loved the story of Elmer. The children were very creative with their skills and made Elmers with many different patterns on. We did some colour hunts and counted to see how many different things everyone had found. We enjoyed time in the garden in the sunshine and started to see some of the different bugs that were living under the logs. This week the story focus will be ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ . I am sure the children are going to love this story and learning about life cycles.

Hello everyone..

 

Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We have had a great first week back and the children have really enjoyed getting back to school routines and learning lots of new skills.

They loved the story of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We had a very busy week and joined in with lots of fun creative activities. We made life sized Goldilocks people. Painted Bear faces for our wall display.

Outside we created a role play bus out of crates, this created lots of turn taking play and sharing which was great to see. 

We did some PE activities in the hall. We used the hoops, balls, balancing and stability activities which all of the children loved and challenged themselves to learn new skills. We also did some material dancing and started to learn how to play Duck, Duck, Goose. 

This week we will be focussing on the story of ‘Elmer’ to recap our colour knowledge. We have some fun things planned, looking forward to a great week of learning challenges.

This week we will be taking part in the activity ‘Whatever the Weather’

This activity supports stability and balance. The skills are: standing, lying, stopping, twisting, lunging, bending and stretching.
