Hello everyone.....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

We really hope you have had a lovely week, we have been so lucky with the weather. Hopefully you have been able to get out and enjoy the fresh air, visit parks and maybe have a little picnic? Please share with us any Wow’s of your time and email any photos you may have with us.

This week we will do some recall of our holiday week.. We will be looking at the Theme of Summer, the clothes we wear, what makes Summer different and what we may see such as flowers out in bloom.  We also have lots of fun activities planned throughout the week.

Drop off time -  remember where possible to  drop at the door, in preparation to progressing to Pre-School year 2, this is going really well.

We are doing some short visits and starting out transitions to the Year 2 classrooms. This will include story/grouptimes and short plays in the classrooms when year 2 are out. Julia and Colleen will also do some storytimes in our classroom so the children can start to build relationships with the year 2 staff. During lunchtimes the children will continue to be on mixed tables with the year 2 staff. The year 2 staff are very familiar to the children as they regularly talk to them while they are playing outside. If you have any questions then please come and speak to Zoe or Julia. We want to give your children the best possible start in year 2 so they feel settled and as secure as possible.

If you can continue to apply suncream in the mornings this would be a great help to us. There is always cream out in the table with the tick list.

We then apply more cream after lunchtime.

Please can you ensure all T Shirts and Jumpers are named as the children take them off and put them down and then we can’t identify who they belong to. There are a couple of jumpers so we will put these out on the rail during collection times.

We enjoy seeing the children after school socialising in the pre-school garden. We are more than happy for the children to play with resources which are out e.g. bikes but we kindly ask that after you finish playing with them please pop them back where you found them.

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.

Please can you return your sunscreen permission slip if you have not already done so. I’m sure we will start to see the warmer weather when we return.

POWSA Events:-

Home Learning

Can you help peg out the washing, maybe make your own little washing line?

Can you identify 2 different bugs while out and about?

Please send in any pictures of your child’s achievements and adventures.  Please send your photos to z.stockley@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk and we will print them off for you to stick in their Marvellous Me books.

Looking forward to a lovely week together..

Zoe, Magda, Laura, James and Ebony
