Year 1
Hello Everyone,
The children have continued to settle into the classroom environment and explore their surroundings. They have enjoyed playing with the small world figures, particularly the messy play activities, where they engaged with a range of different textured materials and creative opportunities.
Through the week, we have been joined in the year 2 class for snack time and outdoor activities in the garden play in the year 2 classroom. We listened to some music tracks and talked about if we liked them or not. We have been exploring the features of our own faces.
It has been lovely to see the children playing alongside each other and observing and responding to the play. Many have enjoyed playing together in the role play house, using their imagination and they have been practicing their ball skills.
We will continue to welcome new families to preschool over the coming weeks. This week we will be learning about ‘Colours’’ and have some great activities planned. If you could continue to bring in your child’s All about me information pack and return it we have a starting point for our conversations.
If you could bring a spare change of clothes for your child this is always helpful. Please bring a drinking bottle that can be left at preschool for the whole year, clearly named. Please ensure they do not have a straw. These will be put through the dishwasher after every session.
You may find your child is very tired over the next few weeks while they are adjusting to all their new surroundings. This is normal. We do have a quiet down time after lunch.
Healthy Movers
This week we will learn all about movement and trying to balance.
Please remember the classroom door opens at 8.55.
Please try to leave all toys/comfort objects in your child’s bag. We can then keep track of what has come out so they don’t get lost.
We will be having a parents information session coming up soon when all the children for this term have joined the class.
If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email.

We are a nut free school, so please can we remind families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.
We are more than happy to cut up fruit at lunchtimes so it stays fresh.
On Wednesday at 3.10pm we have storytime. Everyone is welcome to come and join us.
POWSA:-
Looking forward to seeing everyone this week and having lots of learning fun together.
Zoe
