COVID-19 Case - Sunday 28th June 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to inform you that one of our parents/carers has tested positive for COVID-19, we have contacted Public Health England who have advised us that there is nothing extra we need to do at this stage.

In the interest of trust and transparency though, we feel it is important that you know the following -

The parent in question has children in Pre-School (Group A Kingdom) and Year 1 (Inspired Kingdom - Group 1B). The family and any close-contacts (with the confirmed case) will now self-isolate for fourteen days.

Both children have been tested today and we await the results.

As soon as the results are shared with me, I will write to you all again.

If the results for either child are positive, both Pre-School Group A Kingdom and Year 1 Inspired Kingdom - Group 1B will close to all pupils and adults for fourteen days.

The current guidance states that if anyone in an education or childcare setting becomes unwell with a:

- new continuous cough and/or
- high temperature and/or
- a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

they must be sent home and advised to follow the COVID-19: guidance for households with possible coronavirus infection guidance.

There are things you can do to help reduce the risk of you and anyone you live with getting ill with COVID-19:

- wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
- use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
- wash your hands as soon as you get home
- cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
- put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards.

Further information is available at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Please be assured that the family in question know that I am sharing this information with you all and know that we stand with them at this time.

I will update you all in due course.

As ever, we would like to remind all parents and carers that we continue to adopt a ‘YOUR CHILD, YOUR CHOICE’ ethos and will continue to fully support children and families who choose to stay at home.

We will continue to do this through our Virtual School Programme and associated support activities including phone calls, food parcels, physical resource deliveries, loan of school equipment (including desks, chairs and Chromebooks) and virtual ELSA sessions (as required).

Parents will not be penalised by the authority if they decide they do not want to take up the offer of childcare or any school sessions.

We continue to stand with you at this time.

Yours faithfully,
Mr. Gary Spracklen - Headteacher

Hello everyone

Hello Everyone,

We had a really busy fun week. On Monday we made some craft lollipops.
Tuesday we did some Starfish craft and counting activity. Wednesday it was so hot we did some lovely maths games out in the gazebo.Thursday we were very busy making ice cream which was delicious. We also finished off our star fish counting activities. Friday we created tropical fish out of paper plates and cup cake cases, which was lots of fun and used our cutting and creative skills.

This week we will continue to explore ‘The Seaside’ theme and we have lots of fun activities planned. We will be taking part in dance day on the field and we will be called for our individual time slot. This will be shown online.

Group D:

On Monday we explored the rock pool in the tuff tray and discussed what each of the sea creatures were and how they moved. The children had so much knowledge of different sea creatures and they enjoyed sharing this with their friends, from how a crab pinches to why jellyfish sting and how an octopus releases ink. We also made some jellyfish.

On Tuesday we read an order formation book about different fish. The children enjoyed comparing the different sizes and patterns of fish. We then started making our own bottle fish, decorating them in a way that made them different to others. We also had fun on the play trail, climbing up the ropes and sliding down the side. We sang some seaside songs in the boat and pretended to be lifeguards.

On Wednesday we made our own strawberry ice cream, the children chopped up the strawberries and mixed the ingredients together before popping the ice cream in the freezer. We also went to the field, we played football with the beach ball (the children love the beach ball) We also played duck duck goose and what’s the time Mr Wolf. We finished the hot day with a special ice lolly snack from Julia, yum!

On Thursday we used the interactive whiteboard, some children were inspired to write their names and others drew some beautiful pictures. The children organised themselves independently to make sure that everyone had a go. We went to the woods where the children explored the trees. We enjoyed trying our homemade ice cream for snack. Because Thursday was a hot day, we spent lots of time in the shade where the children challenged their own learning. Some completed puzzles independently and others tried putting different sounds together to make a word.

On Friday we spent a lovely morning on the field playing different games and exploring the school grounds.  In the afternoon we had fun with the water squirters, everyone had lots of fun, poor Julia got rather wet.

Notices:

Hello everyone

Hello Everyone,

We had a really busy fun week. We continued with our ‘Jack in the Beanstalk’ theme. We also concentrated on lots of craft activities.

Monday - we did cutting and sticking pictures.
Tuesday - We got creative with paper plates, most of the group made them into rainbows.
Wednesday - We had our first PE lesson with Mr Trebble, the children were amazing and loved following instructions and racing. They really enjoyed the hurdles.
We also made planes and flew them on their field which was great fun.
Thursday - As it was such a windy day we created some Kites and tested them in the outside area. Made the giants footprints and painted some pebbles.
Friday - We made some pasta necklaces and decorated them. We also did some mark making using cotton buds.
What a busy time we had!

Group D:

We had a great week exploring Jack and the Beanstalk further. We made a giant from leaves, sticks and flowers found in the forest school area. We painted our own beanstalk using different techniques including, forks, cotton buds sponges and of course our hand prints. On Wednesday we received a special letter from the Giant asking us to help him find his golden eggs stolen by Jack. The letter gave us clues as to where they might be, the children listened very carefully and were great at solving them. We have spent lots of time out and about, enjoying time on the field with frisbee’s and balls and time on the play and trim trails.
We finished the week on Friday by making a chocolate cake. The children decided the week before what they wanted to make and helped the adults to write the shopping list of ingredients. We have had such a lovely week!

This week we are exploring ‘The Beach’ theme and we have lots of fun activities planned. We will also be making some special surprises for the Dad’s in readiness for this weekend.

If you are not at Pre-School I  will be continuing  to catch up with you throughout the week but please do email if we can help with anything. We are now in school 5 days a week so just give us a call and we will get back to you.
