Hello everyone.....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

We have had a very busy week and been very creative in our learning.

On Monday in the morning we went to explore the soft play room in small groups which was lots of fun. We also talked about Pantasourous and made some pants creations for the children who were not attending last Friday. In the afternoon we focussed on our scissor skills and cut out some pictures from magazines and cards.

On Tuesday we made some sheep and cut up the tissue paper to go on them. In the afternoon we explored foil painting using cotton buds. This was great for getting the little finger muscles developing.

On Wednesday we made some more pants sticking creations and these designs were very colourful and creative. In the afternoon we did some colour hunt cutting and everyone collected their own colours of cutting out designs. OnThursday we did some Maths work on the large screen which the children enjoyed. In the afternoon we created some building constructions in the classroom and then took our designs and made bigger models in the garden.

On Friday morning we did some texture play and mark making in the shaving foam. In the afternoon we went to feed the animals and played on the big yellow slide next to the pirate ship play area.

Over the next few weeks we are going to be travelling and looking at different countries. We start this week looking at our very own London.

If you have been and have anything you think the children may like to look at during group times please bring it in. We have lots of fun things planned and we are going to have some traditional cream teas so all children can experience this.

Group Times we have continued our focus on listening skills. We will continue this over the coming week.

Hello Everyone,

We have had a great week of fun and learning and been having lots of fun together.

The children have really enjoyed the nursery rhyme focus and it has been amazing to see just how many songs they know.

They have enjoyed creating artwork, drawing and acting out the songs with others in the group.

Group Times we have been talking about what makes us happy and how we like to play in the group. We have talked about asking if you can have something when you are playing and listening to what other people are saying.

The equipment in the hall has now been installed and safety checked so we very much look forward to starting to use this with the children. We will post some pictures for you to see.

Thursday we concentrated on the Bear threading and showed such good skill and determination. The children also went in small groups to use the ‘Press Play’ headphones to act out the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children loved this and are starting to get the idea of acting out actions while listening to instructions on the headphones. In the afternoon we made some bear ear hats which the children loved pretending to be Bears. In the afternoon we went on a fun listening to sounds walk out and about around the school grounds. The children loved banging their pipes to see how many different environmental sounds they could make on objects. We also went to the wood area to see if we could see Goldilocks or bears!
