Hi everyone

Hello Everyone,

We hope you have had a good few days and have been able to get your exercise each day. The last couple of days have looked lovely but once you get out it has been very windy and cold. Least it makes you appreciate being back home.

I will be continuing with my phone conversations this week. If you can think of anything you need write it down and I will see if I can help you.

The chick’s will be hatching this week and Julia will be setting up the live camera link so you can watch online. I’m sure the children will enjoy watching this and listening to the chicks.

Here are some challenges you may like to try over the coming days.

Why not make some colourful Butterflies with paint and using fingers to mark make the Butterfly.

Decorating some digestive biscuits with icing sugar and some sugar gems or even fruit.

When the suns out lay some toys, animals out on the path put some white paper behind and trace the animals on to the paper.

Painting using toilet roll holder shapes. You can also make different puppet shaped animals with these.

Stick a long piece of paper to the edge of the table. Draw a pattern for your child to try and cut along.

Use an old jar or tin each day and put a note in with something you would like to do when we are all able to go out again.  For example: Make sand castles, play with a friend.

Can you build a den from chairs and sheets/blankets.

Farmer Palmers Farm Park has a live stream each day which is very interesting for the children to watch.

Please drop us an email if there is anything you need. Looking forward to speaking to you all soon.

Hello everyone

Hello Everyone,

We do hope that you are all keeping well and have been enjoying a bit of fresh air outside each day.

It was lovely to catch up with some of you during my phone conversations earlier in the week. It sounds like you have all been doing an amazing job and have been up to some very exciting things to keep busy.

Here are a couple of midweek challenges you may like to try...

With such lovely weather get out some buckets/bowls of water and make some shapes or marks on the paths and fences. If you have any spare paint brushes these would be of great use. If not sponges, scrubbing brushes or even sticks and stones to create the marks.

Can you make a model out of bricks or household items.

Why not spend some time looking at some photos and then you could send a picture to  someone you know.

Please drop us an email if there is anything you need.

Hopefully this week you will be able to spend lots of time out in your garden enjoying the fresh air and playing games together.
We will try to suggest some challenges for the week that you may like to try but obviously no pressure to complete these.

Physical challenge- running around outside when you clap your hands choose from one of the following, Crab shape, arch shape, backwards jogging, skipping, bunny hops. Lots of fun and burns off lots of energy.

Maths challenge - collect up certain coloured objects from around the house. Can they put them into groups and count the correct number?

Expressive art and design - using wooden spoons to tap out rhythm on different surfaces. Can they play loud, soft, make up their own beat you have to follow and can they stop at a signal?

Literacy - reading stories together, can they read a story to you? Can they make up their own stories using props?

Understanding of the  world - look through some photos together, can the children tell you about the photos or remember any of the events? Can they draw a picture of something they have done this week?

Keep Smiling

On Friday we will be ending term with a non-uniform day with the children invited to wear bright clothes to bring us some cheer and a donation for our local food bank!  We would also like to bring a smile to all of our faces by having a joke to share as well.  Put your thinking caps on and bring along your favourite joke to tell and share. You can join in at home as well, just email them in in the usual way and wear your brightest clothes for the day.

Book week....

Hello Everyone,

The children really loved the story of the ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’
We learnt lots of new descriptive language, talked about staying safe when we are out and tried some porridge which they all had a little taste.

This week we will have a book focused on the few days leading up to ‘World Book Day’ on Thursday. We are sure lots of the children will enjoy dressing up for the occasion. If your child would like to bring in their favourite book to read with the group then please do. If you could make sure they have a pencil name inside the front cover this would be great. If you would like to come in at 3.10 and share your child’s favourite story with the group you would be most welcome. Just mention this to Zoe or Chloe.
We will be doing lots of fun activities linked to books throughout the week.
Year 2 from school are going to be starting a storytime each week with our children. They will come over in pairs and read to the children at grouptime. This is an amazing opportunity which is loved by all the children and quite magical to watch in action.

Letters and Sounds
This week we will be continuing playing ‘Repeated rhythms’ . This is a great listening game. The children have to guess the tappy sticks to tap back a rhythm.
