Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We have had a great week and have lots of fun learning the story of the Rainbow Fish.The children completed lots of fun activities and really enjoyed crafting, making Rainbow Fish creations. The children have loved the nice weather and have been taking part in lots of role play based activities outside in the garden area. 

This week we are going to be focussing on the Jubilee celebrations. We have lots of fun activities planned. 

Jennie Jigsaw

This week we will continue talking about  ‘Our Feelings’ focusing on what makes us happy. Jennie the Jigsaw has been coming to our group times and talking to the children all about having kind hands and she talks to the children about the positive things she's been seeing during the day. (Jennie is a soft toy)

Letters and Sounds 

This week we are going to play Teddy lost in the room as last time the children were really good at this. We will put two people outside at once so they can work together as a team to find the teddy bear. 

Notices

On Thursday 26th May we have got stay and play from 8.30-9.00am. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there. 

On Friday children are able to come into pre-school dressed in red, white and blue. Also children to bring in a royal lunch. 

We break up for half term on Friday 27th May and return back to pre-school on Tuesday 7th June. We wish you all a wonderful half term holiday.

If you have a play and learn library bags so they can be changed for new resources after half term. If you think the weather looks hot enough for sun cream during the day, if you could apply this before you arrive at Pre-School this would be a really great help to us. We will put out the suncream list and you can tick off your child’s name at drop off in the morning.

Hello everyone....

 

Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We have had a lovely week and have lots of fun learning the story of the three little pigs. The children completed lots of fun activities and really enjoyed crafting, making masks and exploring outside looking for stocks to use to create the pigs house. 

This week we are going to be focussing on the story of Rainbow fish. This is a lovely story and it is based on sharing and making friendships. We have lots of fun activities planned.

This week we will continue talking about  ‘Our Feelings’’ focusing on what makes us happy. Jennie the Jigsaw has been coming to our group times and talking to the children all about having kind hands and she talks to the children about the positive things she's been seeing during the day. This week we are going to play tappy sticks and see if the children can respond to instructions and stop, start and make loud and soft noises.

On Friday 20th May  we have got stay and play from 8.30-9.00am. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there. 

On Thursday it is our grandparents snack. Grandparent arrive at 10.00 at the main pre-school entrance and will be shown to the pre-school hall for snack. After snack grandparents can join children in the pre-school classroom and outside. If your child doesn't normally attend on a Thursday they are very welcome to come in with their grandparent at 10.00 for snack and a play. The event will finish at 11.45. Any questions please come and ask.

Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We have had a lovely week and we have continued to be very creative. The children have enjoyed making many different creations using a variety of different tools. The children have really loved singing times and it has been great to see the children start joining in with this. 

This week we are going to be focussing on the story of the 3 little pigs which I am sure the children are going to love.

This week we are going to play. Can the children guess the animals from a set of clues? We will also play the missing item memory game.  The children all take turns with this game.

Hello everyone.....

 

Year 1

Hello Everyone, 

We have had a great first week back and the children have really enjoyed meeting the new children in the class and have made them feel very welcome which has been lovely. The children have loved exploring out in the garden and have found all types of different bugs under the logs and wooden branches. 

Monday we settled back in and loved playing with all the messy activities we had on offer!

Tuesday the children did some really great worm creations and thought really hard about how many worms they wanted to put on their pictures. They children also enjoyed using lots of different textures to create with.  

Wednesday the children painted and crafted a large hungry caterpillar to put up on display. This was great fun and all the children worked together really well.

Thursday the children made some little caterpillars and did some great cutting and sticking and really thinking about patterns and what colours they would like to use.

On Friday we did some great bug hunting out in the garden. The children wanted to pick up the bugs and were very interested about how they moved and how many legs they had. They also wanted to know why they lived under logs and how they got their food. 

This week we will be continuing with our insect investigations. We have lots of fun investigations planned.

Jennie the Jigsaw has been coming to our group times and talking to the children all about having kind hands and she talks to the children about the positive things she's been seeing during the day. (Jennie is a soft toy)

Letters and Sounds 

This week we will start to play Teddy lost in the room. Someone goes out of the room. We hide the teddy in the room. When the person returns, we bang the drum loud if they are close to where the teddy is and soft if they are far away from it. The children all take turns with this game.

On Monday 2nd May it is Bank Holiday Monday, we are closed on this day and are back open on the Tuesday 3rd May.
