Under the Sea and Sun Safety

We had a great fun playing with the beach balls and creating our lovely sea side picture. The moon sand did not quite go to plan but, we had fun trying!
This week we will be moving on to ‘under the sea’ we will be creating sea creatures from junk modelling items.
We will also talk about how to stay safe when we are out and about when it is busy over the summer months.

This week we will continue to be talking about Friendships and what a good friend is. This includes making relationships, managing feelings and behaviours. 
We has some good discussions about having lots of friends not just a ‘Best Friends’ 

Letters and Sounds 
This week we will be playing ‘Describe the animals’ which is a guessing game to see if you can recognise which animal it is from the description. It also encourages descriptive language as we talk about what animals look like. During the week we will also use the musical instruments.

Home Learning 
Please continue to share any Wow’s with us. If your child would like to bring anything in for talk times then please do. We have started sharing news and giving praise as a group.

Please remember to check your Child’s post pocket when you hang up coats in the mornings, all important post will be there. 

If you could apply sun cream to your child if it looks like it’s going to be warm before they arrive at Pre-School in the mornings this would be a great help to us.

Please ensure all drinks bottles are named as we have quite a few the same.

It was lovely to see some of you at Stay and Play on Thursday. This week Stay and Play will be on Friday 5th July  from 8.30-9.00am. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there.

On Friday 5th July is Dance Day. Each class will doing a dance on the school field. This event starts at 2.30pm. If you are not in on a Friday afternoon you are very welcome to join us. 

On Saturday 6th July is the school summer fair. It will be a great family fun day out. Summer fair starts at 11.00am.

The beach





Hello Everyone,

We had a great time playing some shape and colour games.
The children had a lovely time mixing colours on the new outside painting area to make their creations. They used lots of new language and made predictions on what colours they thought they would make.
This week we will be moving on to ‘The Beach’ we will be creating a big Beach scene, making moon sand, practicing our throwing and catching with beach balls.
We will also talk about how to stay safe when we are out and about and what we need to wear in the hot weather.

We will make a brain storm of this and create pictures. We have been talking about ‘Best Friends’ we can have many friends but they don’t need to have a best friend.

Letters and Sounds 
This week we will be playing ‘who’s under the blanket’ which is a guessing game to see if you can recognise who may be missing from the group. It also encourages descriptive language as we talk about what the person is wearing and if they are a boy or girl. During the week we will also use the Tappy sticks.

As the weather is starting to get warm, please could all children bring sun hats to school. We do have a box of spares if needed. If you have applied suncream to your child before school please could you let a member of staff know. If you have ticked to supply your own suncream, please could you make sure children have this when they come to Pre-school ready for us to applyIf you could apply sun cream to your child if it looks like it’s going to be warm before they arrive at Pre-School in the mornings this would be a great help to us.

On Wednesday 26th June is a POWSA meeting at 7.30pm in the main school staff room. Be great to see you there.

Colour and shape












Hello Everyone,

We had a great time talking about Water and the children had a very good understand of the household appliances that need water to work.
We also hope you all had a great Fathers Day and the children enjoyed giving their gifts to the special figures in their lives.
This week we are going to be re visiting shapes and colour. We will be learning about other colours other than just the primary ones. We will create colours, mix colours and build on our descriptive language skills.

Hello Everyone,

We had a great first week back and we have been amazed with the picture’s the children have done of their holiday news
We started our theme of Water and did a lot of language about volume.
We will continue this week and talk about different Countries and where their water comes from. We will talk about how to stay safe in the water and measuring how much rain water there is this week!  
We will be making special things for special people also this week to take home for the weekend.

This week we will be talking about being me in the world. This includes making relationships, managing feelings and behaviours. We will continue to sing songs in the group focussing on if your happy and you know it. We will change the words and do other actions such as: smiles, hugs, help your friends, look after toys and make up actions for each.

Letters and Sounds 
This week we will be playing ‘Animals and the sounds they represent’ which is a listening game to see if you can describe what instrument sound suits the animals. It also encourages descriptive language such as: high, low, wobbly, loud, fierce, rough, and smooth. During the week we will also use the ‘Tappy sticks.’

Thank you for your support at our community makeover weekend on the pre-school garden. It looks amazing and the children are going to really enjoy exploring and learning in our outside area. 

On Thursday 13th June 2019 we have got the Happy Circus coming to school for an evening circus performance. Tickets can be purchased now  at a great price of £10.50 each. Tickets can be purchased from the Main school office.

Exploring water

Hello Everyone,


We had a great end to the term with the Caterpillars hatching in to beautiful Butterfly’s. They have now been set free to life in the outside world. The children loved this experience which was great to observe.
We hope you have all had lots of fun over the half term; we look forward to recording all your news stories over the coming week.
Over the next two weeks we will be looking at the theme of water.
We will look in to where our water comes from, water safety, floating and sinking,
Measure prediction of the weight of water. Hot/cold water. Collecting rain water and measuring how much rain we have had.
Countries which don’t have much water and how they get water.

On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June 9-5pm we are having a pre-school community make over weekend. We are going to be moving the sheds and painting and treating the sheds, tree house etc. We are also going to be having a good tidy of the whole pre-school outside space. From the sponsored bike and scooter ride we are purchasing some fantastic resources to enhance our children's learning. we would welcome any support, however big or small on these days- even if only for one hour!
