Hello everyone.....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

The children have loved the Little Red Hen story and we have started to do some creative activities around this book.

This week we will be continuing with this and we have lots of fun things planned.

Healthy Movers

This week we will be practising our skills of balancing, pivoting, twisting, lunging, bending, stretching and turning. The children are really enjoying these activities and working well as a group.

We will also be working on ball skills in the outside area.

Wiggle me into squiggle movements

This week we are going to be concentrating on wiggling on our tummies. We have to focus on keeping very still and then wriggling again. We will also be wiggling on our backs.

Please remember the classroom door opens at 8.50, unless it is a stay and play morning.

Charlie Bear will be continuing to make his adventures home with the children this week. We look forward to reading about what he has been up to over his time with you. If it’s easier you can email any photos to Zoe on the email address below.

Home Learning

  • Can you find objects that you can use to tap with?

  • Can you put on your own shoes ?The children are making great progress with this skill.

We will be starting to send out some challenges for you to help your child to complete at home. Feedback can be sent back using a ‘WOW’ The Challenges will help your child to develop to the next level in their learning and skills.

If you have not yet returned your sunscreen permission slip, this would also be very helpful. It would be great if you could apply sunscreen to your children before you dress in the morning. We will then reapply the suncream for the afternoon. When the weather is nice we will always have the suncream out on a table so you can pop some on while you wait for the door to open. Thank you for applying the sun creams in the morning, it is really helpful and means we can spend maximum time with the children engaging their learning.

Please try to leave all home toys at home or in your child’s bag as we struggle to find them if they get lost!

Stay and play morning sessions are will be posted next to our door on the window. It would be great to see you. These run once a week on a different morning each week from 8.30am-9.00am. We also have one every half term on a Saturday. This week stay and play is on Wednesday morning at 8.30-9.00am.

If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email.

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.

POWSA:-

On Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in the main school staff room, POWSA are having their monthly meeting. Everyone welcome. If you would like anymore information come and speak to Julia.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this week and having lots of learning fun together.
