Hello everyone....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

The children have loved the Little Red Hen story. We did some lovely craft work and the children have learnt lots new information on chickens.

This week we will be re visiting colours and shapes. We hope to have some sunny weather so we can investigate shadows too.

Healthy Movers

This week we will be practising our skills with the scarf and moving them to different types of music.

This week we are going to be concentrating on balancing and if we can do this while doing another skill.

Please remember the classroom door opens at 8.50, unless it is a stay and play morning.

Charlie Bear will be continuing to make his adventures home with the children this week. We look forward to reading about what he has been up to over his time with you. If it’s easier you can email any photos to Zoe on the email address below.

Home Learning

  • Can you find 3 different insects?

  • Can you put on your own shoes ?The children are making great progress with this skill.

We will be starting to send out some challenges for you to help your child to complete at home. Feedback can be sent back using a ‘WOW’ The Challenges will help your child to develop to the next level in their learning and skills.

If you have not yet returned your sunscreen permission slip, this would also be very helpful. It would be great if you could apply sunscreen to your children before you dress in the morning. We will then reapply the suncream for the afternoon. When the weather is nice we will always have the suncream out on a table so you can pop some on while you wait for the door to open. Thank you for applying the sun creams in the morning, it is really helpful and means we can spend maximum time with the children engaging their learning.

Please try to leave all home toys at home or in your child’s bag as we struggle to find them if they get lost! Please try after half term to start practising saying goodbye and dropping your child off at the door. This is good practice for Pre-School year 2.

If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email.

On Thursday we have our Grandparents snack. We invite grandparents to come to the front door for 9.55am. Grandparents will have a snack with the children and then there will be an opportunity to play in the pre-school Year 1 classroom and outside until 11.45am. We look forward to seeing lot's of Grandparents.

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.

We break up for half term this Friday and return back to Pre-school on Monday 3rd June. We wish you all a very Happy Half Term.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this week and having lots of learning fun together.

Zoe, Chloe,Lauren and James
