Hello everyone....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

We have had a very busy  week and have had lots of fun learning experiences together. On Monday we had lots of fun creating some Tractor wheel painting creations. On Tuesday we made some cut and stick Tractors which we had to do lots of thinking about shapes and designs. We have been reading the story of the Little Red Hen and discussing what we need to make our own bread. From Wednesday onwards we  made bread in small groups. This was great fun and we learnt lots of new vocabulary and skills. The children recall of what ingredients we have used was amazing. On Friday we talked all about the Harvest festival and all of the events that take place around it. We also watched a CBBC clip about Harvest. We have been feeding and checking on the animals most days. Please see the photos included in this post.

Some pictures from the week...

This week we will be continuing with the Farming fortnight with school.

We have some more fun activities planned around this theme. Please remember there is an optional dress up day coming up.

Harold (SCARF)

This week we will be talking about pants at group times as this links in well with the potty training theme. We will be reading stories about pants and designing our own pairs.

Home Learning

Thank you for the  photos of people who are special to your child. The display is starting to fill up. If you don’t have a printer then please send your photos to z.stockley@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk and we will print them off for you.

 Notices

We will always ensure any letters are put in your child’s bag so please always have a look for any post.

Please continue to sign up for parents evening on the 13 October 2022. It will be lovely to catch up with you and share your child’s learning and experiences so far.

If you could bring in your child’s birth certificate that would be great as we need proof of their birth dates in readiness for their funding eligibility. You can pop this to Caroline in the office or Zoe or Chloe will also sign our paperwork to say we have seen a copy when you drop off in the morning.

Potty Training

If you would like to start potty training we are more than happy to take this step with you. Top 2 potty training tips: A child can’t hold their bladder or bowel movements if they are blowing bubbles! If you have a boy turn the potty or training seat the other way round and then you will get no splashing all over the floor!

We will continue to send some Marvellous Me’,s, Thank you for the high fives. We aim to send a minimum of one photo a week as we like to spend a maximum amount of time engaging with the children.

On Friday it is Dress as a farmer day. Children can dress up as farmer if they would like too.
Also it is our Harvest Assembly at 10.30-11.15am in the main school hall.  Children welcome to bring in non-perishable donation for the food bank. Parents and carers welcome to come and watch Harvest assembly.

The morning stay and play session this week is on Friday 7 October from 8.30-9.00am. Thank you to everyone who came this week. It was really lovely to see you all. The children coped really well with you leaving at 9am.

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.
