Hello everyone....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

The children have had a wonderful week and have enjoyed exploring many new experiences in the classroom. We have been mixing colours to create new textures and shapes. The children particularly loved using the scissors, and we always remind them that scissors must be used while sitting at the table. They also enjoyed gluing the pieces they had cut onto another sheet of paper.

We marked Armistice Day by making poppies and watching the CBBC recording designed for children. During group times, we talked about what makes a good friend and discussed how to play together and use key words to start conversations with others. It was lovely to see so many Pudsey outfits on Friday! We enjoyed learning about the day and sharing a spotty biscuit snack.

The children are really beginning to engage well during group times, and it’s wonderful to see how much they are enjoying the action songs.

This week, our focus will be on transportation. With the changing weather, it’s a great opportunity to talk about the different types of transport the children may ride on or see. We’re looking forward to another fantastic week full of learning and fun!

Healthy Movers
We’ll be practising our throwing and catching skills with beanbags and taking part in obstacle courses in the hall to challenge our coordination and problem-solving skills.

Notices

As the weather begins to change, please remember to send a warm coat each day so we can keep enjoying outdoor activities whenever possible.

Please try to leave all home toys/comfort objects in your child’s bag.

Hello everyone......

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

We have had a lovely week and have loved exploring Autumn. There is so much to do and see. We have been on some great adventures throughout the week.

We have made some Hedgehogs bread rolls. The children loved mixing and exploring all the ingredients. We also made pizza for a snack which was a huge hit and everyone enjoyed tasting it! We created some paintings using vegetables to print. Some of the children found it hard not to taste them!

We played some group games and have started to learn about taking turns in a group.

At group times the children have enjoyed dancing to the music man and were very interested in the sounds that all the instruments made. We watched some short clips on the instruments as the children did not know what some of them looked like.

The children have been more expressive in the garden and are starting to access different equipment which is lovely to see.

This week we will be continuing with  farming and we have lots of fun things planned.  We can’t wait and we all really love this time of year.

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

This week we have been very busy with our learning.

The children have been developing their listening skills and have done some great creative work.

The children loved the painting artwork with the number stamping with the corresponding dots. The children also enjoyed mixing up the colour and creating their own new one.

We did some great number work and everyone enjoyed the Conker rolling, we had to guess how far we thought each one was going to reach. We then marked this on our mat. We made some adaptations using pipes and guttering.

The children loved learning some new action songs and loved the ‘Sticky Kids’ activity songs we did during group times.

For the next two weeks we will be focusing on farming and harvest. We love this topic and have so many fun things planned to do.
