Year 1
Hello Everyone,
We have had another great week of learning, fun and exploring.
We have continued to become familiar with our new spaces and explore the rooms. The children have also enjoyed visiting soft play and the sensory room. The children have been learning the daily routine, they have liked to have a quiet time after lunch to recharge!
The children have done some lovely mark making and made their christmas cards to be sent away to the printers!
The children have played some small group games and started to learn the skills of turn taking and listening to each other.
This week our theme will be having a colour focus. We will be playing games, matching, colour hunting and playing parachute games to reinforce our knowledge of colours. We have lots of fun things planned.
Healthy Movers
This week we will be looking at agility and locomotion. We will be moving in different ways such as crawling, rolling, stepping, walking, jogging, marching, stomping and sliding. We will be doing these movements while popping the bubbles.
Notices
Please continue to bring in your child's All about me information pack that would be great as it gives us some information to start conversations.
If you could bring a spare change of clothes for your child this is always helpful. Please bring a drinking bottle that can be left at preschool for the whole year, clearly named. Please ensure they do not have a straw. These will be put through the dishwasher after every session.
You may find your child is very tired over the next few weeks while they are adjusting to all their new surroundings. This is normal. We will be arranging a parent information session soon so please look out for the date.
Please remember the classroom door opens at 8.55, unless it is a stay and play morning. Stay and play dates are displayed next to the entrance door. You are more than welcome to come in and play with your child until 9.00. We also have an additional one each half term on a sat morning.
On Monday 22nd at 3.10 we have our come and join us for story time. Look forward to seeing you there.
Please try to leave all home toys/comfort objects in your child’s bag. We can then keep track of what has come out so they don’t get lost.
We will be having a parents information session coming up soon when all the children for this term have joined the class. If you can continue to drop your child off at the classroom door this works very well and builds independence and builds relationships with your child’s key workers.
If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email. z.stockley@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk
We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this week and having lots of learning fun together.
Zoe and Chloe
