Hello everyone....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

The children have enjoyed the week of exploring different forms of transport. They enjoyed playing transport games and linking the sound to each form of transport. We also did some vehicle matching and counting them in small groups.

We have enjoyed cutting and sticking this week and have been making some great creations.  The children have been playing in the role play area and it has been great to see their play and interactions developing.

This week, we will be starting on all things christmas and we can’t wait! We have many different fun things planned.  We’re looking forward to another fantastic week full of learning and fun!

Healthy Movers
We will be using our scarves in different ways to move to music. We will also group ourselves according to the colour of our scarves.

As the weather begins to change, please remember to send a warm coat each day so we can keep enjoying outdoor activities whenever possible.
We also encourage you to continue helping your child practice putting on their own shoes and coat — it’s a wonderful way to build independence and confidence. Please can you return any home learning bags you may have at home.

Please also remember that the classroom door opens at 8:55 a.m., unless it is a Stay and Play morning. The Stay and Play dates are displayed next to the entrance door. This week it is Story time at 3.10pm. Everyone welcome.

Please try to leave all home toys/comfort objects in your child’s bag.

We can then keep track of what has come out so they don’t get lost.

Hello Everyone,

The children have had a great week and have enjoyed exploring many new experiences in the classroom. We have been exploring all types of transport. The children have been creative with the car wheels, mark making using the paint. We have also played some small group games. In the outside play area we have been using the balls and throwing and catching.

We also made some apple boats and had to work out how to get them to float.

The children are really beginning to engage well during group times, and it’s wonderful to see how much they are enjoying the action songs.

This week, we will continue our focus  on transportation. With the changing weather, it’s a great opportunity to talk about the different types of transport the children may ride on or see. We’re looking forward to another fantastic week full of learning and fun!

Hello everyone....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

The children have had a wonderful week and have enjoyed exploring many new experiences in the classroom. We have been mixing colours to create new textures and shapes. The children particularly loved using the scissors, and we always remind them that scissors must be used while sitting at the table. They also enjoyed gluing the pieces they had cut onto another sheet of paper.

We marked Armistice Day by making poppies and watching the CBBC recording designed for children. During group times, we talked about what makes a good friend and discussed how to play together and use key words to start conversations with others. It was lovely to see so many Pudsey outfits on Friday! We enjoyed learning about the day and sharing a spotty biscuit snack.
