Year 1
Hello Everyone,
We had a fantastic first week back and kept ourselves very busy! The children loved creating colourful firework pictures and decorating biscuits to look like fireworks. They also had a great time enjoying hotdogs and making s’mores around the campfire.
Outdoors, the children explored their surroundings, made leaf pies, and had fun playing on the swings. During group time, we sang some puppet songs that were a big hit! We also spent some time in the soft play area and the sensory room, which everyone really enjoyed.
This week, our focus will be on World Kindness Day, Children in Need, Armistice Day, and all things Autumn. It’s such a beautiful time of year with all the changing colours, and we have lots of exciting activities planned. We’re looking forward to another wonderful week full of learning and fun!
Healthy Movers
We’ll be exploring how different animals move and sound! Our focus will be on developing physical skills such as balancing, landing, pivoting, twisting, lunging, bending, stretching, and turning. The skills we’ll focus on include balancing, landing, pivoting, twisting, lunging, bending, stretching, and turning.
As the weather begins to change, please remember to send a warm coat each day so we can keep enjoying outdoor activities whenever possible.
We also encourage you to continue helping your child practice putting on their own shoes and coat — it’s a wonderful way to build independence and confidence.
Please also remember that the classroom door opens at 8:55 a.m., unless it is a Stay and Play morning. The Stay and Play dates are displayed next to the entrance door.
Stay and play is on Thursday this week from 8.30-9.00. Everyone is welcome. On Saturday morning we also have Stay and Play from 10.00-11.30am. Everyone welcome. Hope to see you there. Please try to leave all home toys/comfort objects in your child’s bag.
We can then keep track of what has come out so they don’t get lost.
If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email. z.stockley@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk
We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.
Looking forward to a great week together.
Zoe, Chloe and Lauren
