Trains

During this last week prior to the half term break, we're talking about trains.

Small world play will give us the opportunity to look at positional language such as "over" and "under" bridges (M).

We'll be reading and looking at the book The Train Ride by June Crebbin. This encompasses repeated refrains and talks about everything you may see during a train journey. Maybe you could tell us on a wow slip about any train ride your child's been on.

Other activities will include acting out being a human train with sound effects of course, practicing going fast, slow and stopping , as well as buying tickets ( PD, EAD & C&L ).

On an individual basis the children will be putting together an animal train puzzle, whilst at the end of the session we'll be listening to a CD called Train By The Station.

Just a reminder that the last day of term is this Thursday 9th as Friday is a training day. We hope you have a nice half term break and look forward to seeing you again on Monday 20th February.
