Size and Shape

Hello Everyone,

We had good week learning all about size. We did some naming of shapes and had to recognise if they were large or small. We ordered the compare bears in size during a game, and then counted them to see if they had the same numbers in each group.

We also did a shape hunt and put them into size order.

This week we will be continuing with our size and shape topic.

We have some good activities planned playing games, painting size shapes, and some cooking.

This week we will be building up the piece of Families – making relationships, self confidence and self awareness and behaviour.

Letters and Sounds 

Last week we played sound lotto. We will repeat this as the children found this quite a challenge.

We will play ‘Teddy lost in the Jungle’ the children hide a bear while some one is out of the room. They come back in and if the drum is playing loud they are close to the bear, if it’s quiet they are far away from saving the bear.

We will also continue with using the instruments and see if the children can follow simple instructions.

Home Learning 

Please continue to add to the Wow board. If your child spots any size, shape objects around the house this would be great to record on a WOW.

Notices

Don't forget to bring in your child's WOW moments. We love to share and celebrate these with everyone. There are spare WOW's by the WOW board in the corridor. 

On Thursday at 3.10pm we have got our third story time session. If you would like to join us please come to pre-school pickup door an adult will direct you to our story session. Look forward to seeing you there.

It was lovely to see some of you at Stay and Play on Friday. This week Stay and Play will be on Wednesday 21st November  from 8.30-9.00am. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there. 

Our next Saturday Stay and Play is on Saturday 24th November from 10.00-11.30am. Younger and old siblings very welcome to join us. 

We have also got our community makeover weekend on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th November from 9-4.00pm. Please see poster for more details or speak to Julia.

Please remember to check your Child’s post pocket when you hang up coats in the mornings, all important post will be there. 

On Friday 23rd November it is POWSA Bingo night. Doors open at 5.30pm and eyes down for 6.00pm in the main school hall. 

On Friday 7th December there is a POWSA Christmas film night. More information to follow. 

Our Pre-school Christmas family breakfast will be on Thursday 13th December from 8.30am. Letter to follow soon.

The POWSA Christmas Fair will be on Friday 14th December from 3.30pm-5.00pm. Please see poster for more details.
