Hello  Everyone,

What a lovely few days of dry weather we have had.Spring really is on the way and it’s lovely to have the lighter mornings.

At Pre-School this week we had a great week. It was fun to see some of our old friends coming back and welcoming new children to the class.

We had lots of fun making our Banana cakes and the children loved the story of ‘Handa’s surprise.’ The children enjoyed watching where Bananas are grown and seeing them harvested to be shipped to us in supermarkets.

We have been playing lots of small group games and turn taking which has been encouraging great social skills.

World book day was fun and we went out in groups to read stories in different areas of the school grounds. Some children went to the round house, animals, pirate ship it was great to read stories with a different outlook. The children were very engaged and really enjoyed this experience.

This week we will be doing some simple science activities and be busy making and creating some special gifts for the weekend. We will also be exploring the interests of the children and extending their interests helping to build new knowledge.

Nearly the whole class so far are returning this week which will be lovely.

This week we will be working to help everyone feel welcome. We will focus on conversations and questions we can use together to help our friends to join in with us.

We will talk about this at group times and have running commentaries in the classroom.

Letters and sounds

This week we are going to do some outside drumming using pipes and tubes. This helps the children to develop their listening skills and make new sounds.

Please get in touch if you need anything and have a good week starting to get back to the new normals routines
