Year 1
Hello Everyone,
We had a lovely week of learning together. The children loved talking about all the changes that take place in Spring. We did some Daffodil crafting pictures which look great on the wall. We also enjoyed the wriggle to scribble activity which we have done this week. We have been trying to describe different shapes and sizes and what different objects feel like. This learning and curiosity to learn is really great to see.
This week we will be very busy getting ready for the special day at the weekend!
We also hope to do some planting and go on a Spring learning exploration around the school grounds.
Healthy Movers
This week we will be going on a Jungle Journey. This is all about agility and locomotion. The children are really enjoying these activities and working well as a group.
The 1PM collection from the little classroom has been going well. This is to provide a smooth and consistent routine for the children who are transitioning all day. Please remember the classroom door opens at 8.50, unless it is a stay and play morning.
Charlie Bear will be continuing to make his adventures home with the children this week. We look forward to reading about what he has been up to over his time with you. If it’s easier you can email any photos to Zoe on the email address below.
Home Learning
How many daffodils can you see on your way to preschool?
Can you put on your own shoes/coat?The children are making great progress with this skill.
We will be starting to send out some challenges for you to help your child to complete at home. Feedback can be sent back using a ‘WOW’ The Challenges will help your child to develop to the next level in their learning and skills.
Notices
If your child does not yet have a drink bottle to leave at Preschool please can you send one in with them this week. We will need these as the weather starts to get warmer. If you have not yet returned your sunscreen permission slip, this would also be very helpful.
The bottles are sterilised each week and we will let you know if they need replacing for any reason.
Please try to leave all home toys at home or in your child’s bag as we struggle to find them if they get lost!
If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email.
z.stockley@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk
We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this week and having lots of learning fun together.
Zoe, Chloe,Lauren and James
