Hello everyone......

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

The children have really enjoyed their week of planting, decorating, sticking and being very creative. We hope that you all enjoyed your Mother’s Day creations. We will continue on the theme of Spring and this week we will be looking at baby animals that we may see around this time of year. Also insects that may start to come out with the weather hopefully warming up.

Healthy Movers

This week we will be continuing on a Jungle Journey. This is all about agility and locomotion. The children are really enjoying these activities and working well as a group.

Please remember the classroom door opens at 8.50, unless it is a stay and play morning.

Charlie Bear will be continuing to make his adventures home with the children this week. We look forward to reading about what he has been up to over his time with you. If it’s easier you can email any photos to Zoe on the email address below.

Home Learning

  • How many insects can you see on your way to preschool?

  • Can you put on your own shoes/coat?The children are making great progress with this skill.

We will be starting to send out some challenges for you to help your child to complete at home. Feedback can be sent back using a ‘WOW’ The Challenges will help your child to develop to the next level in their learning and skills.

Notices

On Friday it is red nose day and children can come to school wearing something red or dressed as their superhero – staff will also be joining in! But remember, not all superheros wear capes. A superhero can be a teaching assistant, family member or someone who has truly inspired you. A suggested donation of £1 per child on the day can be brought into class.

Stay and play morning sessions are now posted next to our door on the window. It would be great to see you. These run once a week on a different morning each week from 8.30am-9.00am. We also have one every half term on a Wednesday. This week stay and play is on Friday morning at 8.30-9.00am.

If you have not yet returned your sunscreen permission slip, this would also be very helpful.

Please try to leave all home toys at home or in your child’s bag as we struggle to find them if they get lost!

If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email.

z.stockley@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this week and having lots of learning fun together.

Zoe, Chloe,Lauren and James
