Hello everyone...

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

We have had a really fun week and the children have had great fun learning more about the story of 'Were Going on a Bear Hunt’ The children loved exploring the grounds and going on a hunt to find the bear. We did some role play throughout the week and had time to retell the story in our tuff tray with props. The children tested out their skills cooking Bear biscuits and loved listening to some Bear songs.

The children really liked our Healthy Movers activity and loved the added props of the scarfs and practised lots of new skills.

We continued our name games during group times to remind us who everyone is.  We have been doing some posting with shapes to see how many different shapes we knew this also helped to progress our turn taking skills.  The children are doing so well and are settling in amazingly to the new routines and surroundings.

This week we will be learning about Autumn and have many activities planned.  If you have any pictures of walks or any items you find out and about then please bring them in for us to share at group times.

Healthy Movers

We will continue to explore  in the deep blue sea!

The skills we will be working to learn are standing, lying, sitting, stopping, landing, balancing, pivoting, twisting, lunging, bending, stretching and turning. We are going to pretend we are on a seaside visit and have to be sea creatures.

If you are able to start to help your child to put on their own shoes this is a really useful skill to have. Please help to describe all of the shoes when you are helping such as laces, velcro strap, and tongue. This really helps them to learn this valuable skill.

Please remember the classroom door opens at 8.55.

On Friday afternoon at 3.10pm we invite you to come to story time. Please come to the door which you drop off and collect from.

Please try to leave all home toys/comfort objects in your child’s bag. We can then keep track of what has come out so they don’t get lost.

We will be having a parents information session coming up soon when all the children for this term have joined the class.

If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email. z.stockley@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.
