Year 1
Hello Everyone,
We have had a really good week and the children have had great fun learning more about the things that happen in Autumn. The children have made some great leaf prints and some of the children went to collect their own leaves they wanted to paint. We have talked about some of the changes that take place during Autumn and the children have come up with some great suggestions. We have done some number games and counting and played in soft play and the sensory room. The children are enjoying the outside play area and are having time to explore all the areas. During the week we visited the book fayre and read some stories together. The children really liked our Healthy Movers activity and loved the added props of the scarfs and practised lots of new skills.
The children are doing so well and are settling in amazingly to the new routines and surroundings.
This week we will be continuing to learn about Autumn and have many activities planned. If you have any pictures of walks or any items you find out and about then please bring them in for us to share at group times.
Healthy Movers
We will be birds in the tree which is a very fun game. I am sure the children will tell you all about it.!
The skills we will be working on are balancing, landing, balancing, pivoting, twisting, lunging, bending, stretching and turning.
If you can continue to help your child to put on their own shoes this is a really useful skill to have. Also putting on their own coats. This really helps them to learn this valuable skill.
Please remember the classroom door opens at 8.55
On Tuesday afternoon at 3.10pm we invite you to come to story time. Please come to the door which you drop off and collect from.
Please try to leave all home toys/comfort objects in your child’s bag.
We can then keep track of what has come out so they don’t get lost.
We will be having a parents information session coming up soon when all the children for this term have joined the class.
If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email. z.stockley@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk
We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.
