Kipper's Birthday

Continuing our Kipper theme, we'll be reading the book Kipper's Birthday throughout the week.

This book is  always one of the favourites from the series, as birthdays are always a much talked about subject at pre-school !

We'll be asking what we need to get for a party like Kippers eg banners, ballons, invites etc and then we'll set about collecting them too (UW).

We'll also be making invitations, setting up and acting out a party in the role play room (EAD).

At the playdough table the children will be making their own cakes, and be asked to put the right amount of candles in them to match their age (M). Following this we'll be having real fairy cakes to enjoy at snacktime!

Finally we'll be asking the children to recall or talk about their individual birthday experiences or plans, to record in their learning journeys. On that note, we always love hearing about birthdays on the wow slips, which are also put in their books.

As the weather has become so cold recently, please do remember to provide your child with named hats and gloves. Thank you.
