Healthy Eating

Hello Everyone,

We have had a busy week, our Butterfly eggs have now moved into the hatching net.
They are now hung in the room so the children can watch the growing progress.
The children enjoyed the ‘Music’ Theme and enjoyed making their own musical instruments to share.
We will play the musical water instruments this week as we ran out of time.
This week we will be focussing on ‘Healthy Eating’ we will be helping to prepare the Healthy snacks looking at how much sugar is in foods.
We will also be talking about doing lots of exercise and listening to changes of our Heart when we do some exercise.

Letters and Sounds
This week we will be playing describe and find. We will set up the farm, we describe an animal and the children have to guess which one it is. The children will also have a job at describing the animals to see how they use the descriptive words.
We will also have an activity of Favourite Sounds and record these, talking about them.

Jigsaw
This week we will be talking about our half term plans and what we would like to do with our families. It’s really nice to see how confident the children are becoming at talking in a small group.
This is to help reinforce Personal, Social and Emotional Development and help them to make life choices.

Home Learning
Wows are coming in with some great achievements, this is great to see. Please record any holiday achievements to display when we get back.
Have a lovely week off and hopefully we can all enjoy some sunny days.
Looking forward to seeing if the cocoons hatch and we will let you know as soon as we see anything.

Notices
As the weather is starting to warm, please could all children bring sun hats to school. We do have a box of spares if needed. If you have applied suncream to your child before school please could you let a member of staff know. If you have ticked to supply your own suncream, please could you make sure children have this when they come to pre-school ready for us to apply.

It was lovely to see some of you at Stay and Play on Wednesday.  This week Stay and Play will be on Thursday 24th May from 8.30-9.00am. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there.

On Tuesday 22nd May at 7.30pm in the Year 4 classroom (the hut) is a POWSA meeting to discuss further fundraising events. If you would like more information please come and see Julia.

We break up for half term this Friday (25th May) and return back to school on Tuesday 5th May.

The summer bingo on Friday evening raised an amazing amount of £211.24. It was a great evening with some fab prizes.

Don't forget to bring in your child's WOW moments. We love to share and celebrate these with everyone. There are spare WOW's by the WOW board in the corridor.

Looking forward to a great week.

Zoe and Pre-school team
