Music

Image result for music pictures

Hello Everyone,

We have all been amazed at how quick our Butterfly eggs have grown. The children have enjoyed watching them eat their way through all of their food.
This week we will be focusing on ‘Music.’
We will be painting to music and seeing what marks different tunes make us make on the paper. We will make our own water instruments and sound shakers.
We will look at how music is written down for Musicians and seeing if the children can mark make their own songs.

Letters and Sounds
This week we will continue ‘Mrs Browning has a box’ it is to the tune of old McDonald has a farm. We will also return to our puzzle pass the parcel
The children will be saying what their favourite instrument is and we will listen to different styles of music throughout the week. This is to really get the children to think about what they have heard. Also start to think about what they may like something different to one of their peers and this is how people vary in their character and tastes.

Jigsaw
This week we will be talking about our close family members. Can they play any instruments and what they like to do in their spare time? We will draw some pictures of all the instruments that they may mention.
This is to help reinforce Personal, Social and Emotional Development and help them to make life choices.

Home Learning
Wows are coming in with some great achievements, this is great to see. We have two new girls to welcome to the class this week. We are looking forward to them settling in and having lots of fun learning with us.
Looking forward to seeing if the cocoons are made this week and what changes have taken place.

Notices
As the weather is starting to warm, please could all children bring sun hats to school. We do have a box of spares if needed. If you have applied suncream to your child before school please could you let a member of staff know. If you have ticked to supply your own suncream, please could you make sure children have this when they come to pre-school ready for us to apply.

It was lovely to see some of you at Stay and Play on Friday.  This week Stay and Play will be on Wednesday 16th May from 8.30-9.00am. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there.

Thank you for all your support and sponsorship for the bike and scooter rides. The children were fantastic at using their bikes and scooters and were able to complete a number of laps. If you have any remaining sponsorship money please bring it into pre-school next week.

On Friday 18th May it is the POWSA Summer bingo evening. Doors open at 5.30pm and eyes down for 6.00pm. It's a great family evening.

On Saturday 19th May from 2-5pm we have got a community make over afternoon in the wildlife area. We will be working on getting the raised beds up and running.

On Tuesday 22nd May at 7.30pm in the main school staff room is a POWSA meeting to discuss further fundraising events. If you would like more information please come and see Julia.

Don't forget to bring in your child's WOW moments. We love to share and celebrate these with everyone. There are spare WOW's by the WOW board in the corridor.

Looking forward to a great week.
