Harvest

Hello Everyone,

We have loved learning about the ‘Little Red Hen’ and what happened to her in the story.
The bread making was lovely and the children enjoyed making predictions about what was going to happen next.
We had fun making shape Tractors together. We have started to use the scissors with help and have enjoyed using the glue to stick the shapes down.

This week we will be using fruits and vegetables to paint with instead of tools.
We will be encouraging the children to describe the texture of the fruit and what they feel like.
We will focus on the farm animal the cow this week and talk about where our milk comes from with a sticking activity.
We will also be working in small groups to create some display work to go in the main school hall to celebrate Harvest.

This week we will continue with our feelings focus, friendships and what we like and what makes us happy and sad.
We had fun pulling a few faces in the mirror and have been encouraging the children to look in the mirror when they have been trying to wipe their noses.

Letters and Sounds
To follow on from our outside sounds we will be going on a listening walk around the school grounds.
We will talk about the sounds we can hear and new ones we can make with our sound tubes while we walk.
We will then discuss this when we get back in group times.

Home Learning
With new sounds in mind please could you record on a ‘WOW’ if your child has heard or recognised a new sound while you have been out and about.
