Weather and birds

Image result for cold weather and birds

Hello Everyone,

We had lots of fun playing with the Animals in the shaving foam/snow. This created lots of opportunities for talk about which animals like the cold/snow and water. We really loved making our bird food and we hope the birds liked it?
We have also added a bird feeder in the garden and we are measuring how much the birds have eaten. This week we will focus on the weather / cold conditions.
This week we will be counting birds in the garden and seeing if we can identity them.
Last week we could hear the birds but not see them. We will make some binoculars to see if this helps us.
Talking about the cold weather and experiencing some ice play, using expressive language and making predictions about how long we think it will take to melt.

Jennie Jigsaw
Working together working through things continues through this theme. The children have really started to look out for one another and help each other out which is lovely to observe.

Letters and Sounds
This week we will play ‘what’s in the box’ a listening game to see if the children can identify noises from inside a covered box.

Home Learning
Keep the lovely Wow’s coming in. Any bird pictures would be great; it may be a hand drawn one.

Notices
Don't forget to bring in your child's WOW moments. We love to share and celebrate these with everyone. There are spare WOW's by the WOW board in the corridor.
