Happy New Year

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wishing you a very happy 2019.

We hope you have all had a great time spending time with your family and friends over the last couple of weeks. I’m sure Santa brought you some lovely new gifts as everyone at the POW Pre-School was on the ‘Good List’

Thank you for all our lovely Christmas gifts it was very kind of you all.

This week we will be talking about what we have enjoyed doing while we have been off. We will do a piece of guided work in our Learning journeys to represent this holiday.

We will also be doing some activities and games based around ‘Rainbow Fish’

This is a lovely story and we can create lots of craft work while recapping colour and using describing words.

Colleen will be joining us on a Tuesday and Friday morning. Colleen also runs breakfast club and many of the children all ready know her. 

Jennie Jigsaw

We will be talking about ways to challenge and never give up. We will be encouraging the children to keep trying even when they find something difficult.

Working together with another child to talk through things and see if they can come up with another solution to the problem.

Letters and Sounds 

This week we will play who’s under the blanket. This is a really fun game, one child shuts their eyes then one child from the group gets covered with the blanket. The child then has to see if they can work out who’s under the blanket. The children love this games and it’s good at helping everyone to learn their friend’s names.

Home Learning 

Some holiday Wow’s would be great. Something your child really enjoyed or talked about. 

We will discuss where we have been and what we have been doing at group times this week.

We look forward to welcoming our new class friends this term and we can’t wait to have them. Remember any questions please ask. Caroline is in on a Monday/ Thursday all day and Friday morning if you have any administration or payment questions. 

Don't forget to bring in your child's WOW moments. We love to share and celebrate these with everyone. There are spare WOW's by the WOW board in the corridor. 

On Tuesday 8th January at 3.10pm we have got our story session. Please come and join us. 

It was lovely to see some of you at Stay and Play on Thursday. This week Stay and Play will be on Friday 11th January  from 8.30-9.00am. Everyone is very welcome including younger and older siblings. Hope to see lots of you there. 

Our next Saturday Stay and Play is on Saturday 26th January from 10.00-11.30am. Younger and old siblings very welcome to join us. 

On Tuesday 8th January is a POWSA meeting to discuss future fundraising events. It is in the main school staffroom at 7.30pm. Please see Julia for more details. It would be great to see you there. 

Please remember to check your Child’s post pocket when you hang up coats in the mornings, all important post will be there.
