Farm animals

Hello Everyone,

We have loved learning about the ‘Elmer’ and all of his great colours. We also enjoyed making some new colours of our own.
It was lovely and the children enjoyed making predictions about what was going to happen next to the paint.
We had fun singing and listening to the musical instruments. We also played a listening game of household sounds which the children had fun thinking about what they could hear.
This week we will be starting to talk about farm animals and in particular cows this week and talk about where our milk comes from with a sticking activity.
We will also be creating pictures using the farm truck wheels.

This week we will continue with our feelings focus, friendships and what we like and what makes us happy and sad.
We had fun pulling a few faces in the mirror and have been encouraging the children to look in the mirror when they have been trying to wipe their noses.

Letters and Sounds
We will be going on a listening walk around the play ground and school grounds.
We will talk about the sounds we can hear and new ones we can make with our sound tubes while we walk.
We will then discuss this when we get back in group times.

Home Learning
With new sounds in mind please could you record on a ‘WOW’ if your child has heard or recognised a new sound while you have been out and about.

Notices
Please return your slips for the Parents/Carers coffee morning on the 8 October 2019 at 9.00am.

The sign up sheet for Parents evening will be on display very soon. This will be on the door close to the post pockets. I looked forward to meeting with you all so I can complete the children’s 4 week settling in progress reports with you.  If you are unable to make an after school time don’t worry I will arrange another time with you.
